St John’s South Village

Located on the former Coronation Street site in Manchester, it will consist of the South Village and St. John’s Place, in total forming 60 units.

"St. John’s will be a new Manchester experience. We want to create a lifestyle where living means more than just bricks and mortar, and we want to do it well. Geraghty Taylor was briefed to create contemporary warehouse living for South Village based on classic industrial heritage. St. John’s Place Tower has a different feel; that of classic, modern architecture and design, reminiscent of the first towers in Chicago and New York."
Michael Ingall, Chief Executive, Allied London

More Than A House
Geraghty Taylor were commissioned to create the brand for this inspiring project, which then informed the design guide for the creative team.

The brief issued by Allied London recognised that living is more than a house, it’s being part of a neighbourhood, part of a community, a lifestyle, a location, choices, amenities and experiences. Geraghty Taylor worked using the premise of Brand before Building, fully understand our client’s brand to create and develop the story behind the project.

This approach recognises architecture is not just about bricks and mortar; it is also about facilitating communities, the lives and neighbourhoods and creating the brand and culture to support this. The St. John’s vision is based around three key pillars: enterprise, culture and living, with two distinctive styles being developed: The South Village at St. John’s will embrace a contemporary heritage feel whilst St. John’s Place will be inspired by mid-century modern style.
